Who are we

Camp Village

Camp Village, Inc., a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization established July, 2002 with a mission to inspire youth to change the world.  Determined to make a difference one child at a time, Camp Village, Inc., in almost twenty years, has touched the lives of 4,882 children and youth.  We truly believe, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.”  That is why we have devoted professionals, retired teachers, retired principals, counselors, business professionals and many volunteers who are providing quality services for their growth and development.  The 4 Divisions in The Village provides exposure to a multitude of activities including a Jr. Apprentice Training Program and a Performing/Visual Arts Academy where they are learning skills year-round while enjoying lifelong experiences that will have a positive impact in their lives and in their communities.

The Village serves youth grade school through college and they participate in the following activities:

SUMMER PROGRAM

We provide a ratio of 3-5 children per counselor and we provide individualized attention for children with special needs. We also mentor our youth counselors from high school to college by teaching them life skills that will fulfill their chosen endeavor, in addition to parent advocacy training.

AFTERSCHOOL & SUMMER PROGRAM
The Jr. Apprentice Training Programs: 

Financial and entrepreneurial training designed to empower students to create economic wealth and end the cycle of disadvantage through the Jr. Apprentice Training Programs. The Village IMAGE Printing business, for students 14 through college design, create, produce, market, and sell clothing lines to organizations, sororities/fraternities, family reunions, schools, colleges/universities, and companies.

C.A.U.S.E. [Causes All United to Serve and Empower] for Elegance is also one of the Jr. Apprentice training programs for students, age 10 – 24, in business and entrepreneurship.  They attend workshops presented by Mentors/Specialists in 35 disciplines and receive hands-on training at their store/fashion house, C.A.U.S.E. for Elegance, at Phipps Plaza.  The proceeds from the sell of all garments, accessories, and products benefit Camp Village, Inc. d/b/a C.A.U.S.E. for Elegance, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.  CAUSE also collaborates with various other organizations to develop youth throughout the community.

AFTERSCHOOL & SUMMER PROGRAM
The Village Performing & Visual Arts Academy 

Year-round Casting Calls and assignments for all ages in the licensed productions of Disney’s Lion King Experience and The Wiz. The students work with industry professionals to produce Broadway quality productions by learning skills as a Production Team: Director, Musical Director, Choreographer, Set Designer, Costume Designer, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists, Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, Stage Manager, Stage Crew, Property Master, House Manager/Ushers, Publicity Coordinator, or Program Coordinator. They may choose to pursue an interest in the industry or literacy education that extends, enriches, and remediates their educational progress, providing students with the foundations of learning skills (e.g. discipline, confidence, persistence, and organization) leading to improved academic achievement in all subject areas.
